"Were going to the Zoo!"

Hello from Mexico!!! last week for p-day we went to the Zoo. its basically in our area so we got the zone together and had a ball. we basically had the park to ourselves. my companion is convinced that the animals recognized who we are because they would come out of hiding to literaly pose for us, the birds even started flirting with the elders. it was pretty fun all around.

But so you dont think we are down here playing around all week ive decided to give an update on the work. We now have to baptismal dates for the next week! Guadalupe and Kika will be getting baptized soon and i will end the 6 month drought in my mission! They really have opened up, and it is really fun to watch them grow and see them happy. Its nice to know that they will be able to go to the temple in a year to get sealed. We are progressing with the Bernal Family. It is hard because they live so far away and in such humble conditions but they came to a ward activity so everything is looking up. We are hoping to put baptismal goals with them here in this next week as well. Juan Cervantes who is 80 years old came to church last week and says that he is going to prepare himself for baptism but we will have to be working with the president on that one so it might take a while. It is really fun to see the people change. Elder Gomez and I contacted a lady who wanted to talk to her husband first. when we came back on a sunday we overheard him get mad at her for telling us to come back, but he listened to us and by the time we left he had invited us to come back another time and even invited us to eat with him. we went back yesterday and he is really interested in the Book of Mormon. He doesn´t believe in jesus as more than a normal person. but there is a power in personal testimony. We ate with him and talked for a while. He really has opened up to us.

Anyway we are really excited about what happened in our zone conference. Elder mickleson came and taught us a new way of teaching... using more conversation and shorter visits. We dont even use the scriptures the first two visits usually. We have put it to trial and have found that our faith was not in vain. we are able to put appointments for the next day with the short appointments and the people usually understand better. We are finding new people to teach and are enjoying contacting. anyway i hope you all are doing well on the home front. The work marches on!
